For a long time, I thought discernment meant constantly being on guard. Watching people closely. Feeling every shift in energy. Preparing myself for disappointment before it even arrived. But over time, God showed me that discernment is not fear.

In this episode, I open up about what it means to truly evaluate the spirit instead of reacting from anxiety, confusion, or emotional overwhelm. I share personal experiences that taught me how to trust what I feel without allowing fear to control me, including moments where my spirit immediately knew something wasn’t right long before my mind could explain it.

We talk about intuition, spiritual boundaries, emotional awareness, peace, clarity, protection, and the difference between discernment and paranoia. I also share some of the spiritual practices and tools that help me realign myself when life feels chaotic, including prayer, Psalms, Reiki, rosemary, and intentional self-reflection.

I truly believe many of us were taught how to recognize danger, but never taught how to recognize peace. And sometimes God is not speaking through fear at all. Sometimes He’s speaking through stillness, clarity, and calm.

Discernment does not always tell you what to run from. Sometimes it tells you what you can finally walk into without fear.

From church fans to creed. Grandma had a jar of roots. Cross hanging over the doorway. But the church still know the truth.

Let's begin. So we're gonna play our sing bowl just to clear out any negative energy or any interruptions that come while we spend our time together. Alright. And today our scent is rosemary. I have some actual dried rosemary right here, and we actually have the essential oil. And this oil helps with mental focus, clear decision making. It also helps for purification, remembrance, guards against harmful energies, and it supports our sacred oil, your spiritual boundary. And yes, you should have a spiritual boundary. Astrologically, I am a Gemini sun, a Gemini moon, and a Virgo rising. What that means is in my real life, I have the natural ability to read a room. And when I say read a room, baby, she can read a room. I trust patterns and behaviors and consistently more than I trust a person's promise and their emotions. If someone's words and actions don't line up, I notice them instantly. I may not always say anything in that moment, but trust, I clocked it. I sensed emotional shifts almost immediately. And for a long time, I actually hated myself for it. Yes, I hated how I could feel something change, even if nobody said one word. And usually it made me shift as a person. And I had to get used to that, not shifting because of other people's energy. And it's not just people, it's places too. In 2018, we were house shopping. We drove towards this one house. And as we got closer, man, my spirit was like, mm-mm, something ain't right. It literally almost leaped out of my body. We pulled up to the house, and the uneasiness was so strong, we didn't even pull all the way in the driveway. Like for real, the house looked fine outside, but the energy, mm-mm, it felt heavy. We never even put the car in paw. No lie. We just rolled back out and went to the next house. That was true discernment. But here's what I had to learn after that is when I started becoming more connected with God and understanding that I am protected, seen and unseen, something inside of me shifted. I began to understand what it really meant when the scripture in the Bible says, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I ain't got to feel no evil. You know why? Because God's rods and his staff, they come for me. And when I mean God's rod, I'm talking about his protection. And his staff is his guidance. And they go with me everywhere I go. That doesn't mean weapons won't form. That just means they won't accomplish what they're said to do. And once I understood that and I realized I didn't have to have a life consistently on guard. I could go to events and actually enjoy myself. I could be present, I could be open, because God doesn't only warn us, he assures us to. See, many people were taught that discernment meant anxiety, that it always meant scanning for danger, that it meant assuming the worst, bracing for an impact, or feeling uneasy all the time. But discernment is not panic. Discment is evaluating, it's calm, it's quiet. It's the quiet ability to observe what emotion is being produced in you. Does it bring clarity or confusion? Peace or agitation? Stability or chaos? Discernment isn't loud. It doesn't rush. It doesn't force fear. It simply notices. And here's the part many people don't talk about. Some people deeply long to know God. They want to feel his presence, understand his voice, and feel connected to him. But they struggle to recognize him because they've been taught to look for warning signs and not peace. They've learned how to identify danger, but not recognize alignment. They know what disruption feels like, but not what divine calm feels like. Clarity is a spiritual signal too. Peace is a signal, stillness is a signal, and understanding is a signal too. God is not the author of confusion. So when confusion is overwhelming, it's time to test the spirit. When there's no peace in the valley, it's time to take a pause and evaluate. But when there is clarity, when there is steadiness, when there is a quiet sense, then something is right. That can be God speaking just as loudly as any warning ever could be. And sometimes discernment isn't about what you learn from. Sometimes it's about what you can finally walk into with peace. So how do I grow my spirit of discernment? How do I elevate my intuition to help me understand that I'm on the right path to trusting my own discernment? Here's some things you could do that can help you as you go on this path. One thing is to make sure you are authentic. Make sure that everything you do, you do it with pure intentions. And make sure that every room you walk in, you're walking in without judgment. That's the first step. Your second step would be to make sure that you have a relationship with God consistently and always praying. Making sure that you tend to your spirit, man, making sure that you tend to your, if you have altars, your altar. If you read the Bible, read the Bible. If you go to Mass, then go to Mass. Whatever your religion preference is, make sure that you are secure in that and that you are honoring your own practice. Lastly, what I would say would be to try tool. You have tools like rosemary or lavender or other tools that you could use. Like for me, when I want to test and get my spirit or have my spirit come back in alignment, I do Reiki for myself or I read the book of Psalms because that is a good way to realign your spirit back to a center point so that your judgment is not off. That way, chaotic spirits or chaotic energies that may come at you when they're there won't interfere with what you're feeling. And remember that you're human. So it's okay that if something happened in the room and you have anger, that you sit with that. You don't allow it to rule you, but you have those emotions and you feel those emotions because you are human. There's nothing wrong with that. But make sure that they're not lingering, make sure that they're not staying too long, make sure you're not waddling in those emotions. Because sometimes we all feel a little off, and sometimes we all don't get it right, and sometimes we all are overstressed, and sometimes we all aren't meeting the needs of our loved ones. But you have to remember that too much of anything is not good. And last but not least, when you aim for nothing, that's exactly what you get produced. Nothing. So put an effort forward. If you don't know that it's right, or you don't understand if it's right, then you have to test the waters a little bit in order for you to explore within yourself what's right for you. Discernment strengthens intuition, calm minds evaluate better. Peace is information, purification is spiritual and practical. Boundaries are not fear, they are care. And you need boundaries to care for yourself. What are you reacting to out of fear that needs to be evaluated with clear intentions? I implore you this week, you can get some rosemary, take some, sprinkle it around your doorways. That's really good for protection. You can also take a satchel like this and open it up, put the dried rosemary inside the satchel, like so, and carry it on your body. You can carry it wherever you desire. This will also bring about protection. You can also take rosemary and put it in a cheese cloth or any kind of bag that you can use. You can take that same dry rosemary, place it in a cheesecloth or anything that will not let the herbs go down the drain. But you can put it in a bath, you can soak in there for 20 minutes and let the rosemary permeate your aura as well as your body. Rinse off, step outside, thank God for his many blessings or his natural herbs, and let it serve as a boundary and clarity. Now let's get one thing straight. Yes, I have an accent. I know the word is discernment, but listen, your girl talked like this because your girl talked like this. It just is what it is. You know why? Because I'm Scarlet Drown, I'm earthly good and heavily minded. Remind yourself this week that you are protected. You can use anything that you need as a protective tool. And in closing, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Ashay. From church fans to create.
