What Religion Took from Us - Episode 16

In this episode of The Spiritual Realest, I’m having an honest conversation about religion, power, and what many of us were taught to believe without question.

I talk about the difference between being taught God and being taught religion, and how fear-based beliefs have shaped the way we see ourselves, our desires, our ancestors, our worth, and our relationship with the divine. This episode is not about telling anyone what they have to believe. It is about asking better questions, getting understanding, and recognizing where inherited teachings may have separated us from our own power.

With dragon blood as the scent of the day, we step into a conversation about protection, courage, spiritual strength, and spiritual warfare without fear-based religion. I share my personal perspective on Christianity, ancestral connection, identity, faith, and the importance of doing your own research.

This is a reminder to stop accepting everything just because it was handed down, and to begin asking what truly brings you closer to God, closer to yourself, and closer to the truth of your own bloodline.

Let's begin. So we're gonna ring our slingbowl and get rid of any negative energy or any distractions that may come while we spend this time together. So today, our scent is dragonblood. You can get the actual resin, you can burn it on charcoal, or you can get the oil in which we have in our diffuser today. And dragon blood is good for protection, courage, spiritual strength, and symbolic of spiritual warfare without fear-based religion. I want to talk to y'all. We'll talk. I want to talk about how Christianity and religion has ciphered our power away. Because I think that we're in this era of coming back to our truest, most highest, most authentic place to our bloodline. And I think that what we have to realize is that the things that we were taught based on generations that no longer serve us in the capacity that it did before now. And I would like to address some things that have been addressed, but people are getting a lot of flack for it when in reality true ratification and true authentic change always comes on the break of a new era, right? So let's start with this. Ask yourself, take a true evaluation of this question. Were we actually taught God or were we taught religion? Sit in that for a minute. Because the truth of the matter is, we were taught religion with the sprinkle of God in it. Now, where do we go from there? How do we rectify that teaching? How do we unlearn something that was taught to us generation after generation after generation after generation after generation? You know the best way to conquer someone is through manipulation. And what better to manipulate someone than religion? Because we're all born to believe. We all have a natural desire to believe. I honestly believe, real talk, that we are all born with an innate desire to reverence God. The minute we're born, faith is activated. We have faith that whoever we're born to will take care of us, they will change our diapers, they will feed us, they will hold us. Every time I cry, they will come to our rescue. Just like that. That's faith. We're all born with it. Everyone who passes through a womb, and for me, that's the only way you can be born. So I just want to say that. Some of y'all say aliens, you know, that's on you. Judge yourself. I'm not judging you. At the end of the day, honestly, why then, if we already come with the knowing of what faith is, do we have to have religion to teach us faith? Why is there so many things within the religion of Christianity, to be specific, that is so contradictory to our natural desire and our natural feeds for bigger and better outside of us or inside of us, because I also believe that God is in you. Because I mean, if you believe the Bible, that's what the Bible says. You are made in his image. You are like him. And if I am made in his image and I am like him, then I myself am God. But I know y'all won't be like, Lord Jesus, that y'all Jesus, though. Just one. I'm just saying though, for real. Why do we feel like if you do not practice Christianity in hell, you will lift up your eyes. Like I said, or like I feel, how do you burn the spirit? How do you burn air? There's so many things that the Bible has taken away from us. Let me explain. If I, which I am, knew at an early age that I liked women, but I also knew that I couldn't express that because I would go to hell. I then learned the behavior of fearing love because my truest love would have been with what I desired, which is a woman. But how can I love a woman if it's sin? So now I have to decide: am I gonna choose sin or am I gonna follow the desire of my heart? When at the end of the day, God gave me this heart. God made this heart in his likeness. He made this person in his likeness, he gave me these desires. But yet I can't act on them because I'm gonna go to hell. News flash, we're in it. This is it. It's called earth. I don't know what y'all don't know. All I know is we have to know without a shadow of a doubt, that there is a place for us as people, and I mean all people, regardless of your religion, to stand firm in our own authenticity of our own bloodlines. Because you guys, if you believe the Bible and you believe that God is you, Jesus, not God, Jesus is European, then you are worshiping a European ancestor. You drank his blood, you eat his flesh, you put candles out for him, you pray in his name. But if I say this person who I know for a shadow of a doubt, has been there for me, has guided me, has walked me through life, and has blessed me tangibly on this earth. I can't put out flowers, I can't talk to them, I can't commune in ways of alter with them, but yet you will want me to come to church and let you lay your holy hands on me with your holy oil that you bless with your deacons and your elders. All I'm saying really is this we as a people have been oppressed for a gazillion centuries, and I'm being facetious, I know, right? But we have been oppressed for centuries, and yet we are so embedded into a religion or a system of religion that means us no good, because they say it is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to go into heaven, but yet them nuggers rich, and just so you understand the definition of a nigga, okay, it is an imbecile, it is an idiot. So take that how you want to. All I'm saying is I know that I cannot believe that it's okay for the white man to be rich on earth, but this black girl right here sitting in your face got to be poor in order to get into heaven. That sounds like slaves gonna be in the heaven. Well, I don't wanna go then. Because if we're gonna have some classism up there, I don't wanna be in that either. So enough classism he don't have. I digress. What for real though? I'm saying, as a people, y'all, come on. We gotta wake up. Again, if Christianity is what it takes for you to be whole, sound, mind, body, and soul. And it's if it's what's gonna keep you from killing the mother, and you know the rest, or let me just say it for y'all who don't. If it's gonna help you keep your mind stayed in a godlike position so that you don't lose it on these people, then by all means, walk that line. But walk it with your eyes open. We in here telling our children, don't worry about what it says, just be obedient and do it. Don't do what I do, do what I say. The Bible is that do what I say, don't do what I do. I'm out here killing these people because I'm scared they're gonna take my throne. You slaying people because you afraid your ego's so big, you afraid for them to come off the throne. Where your God in that? What is that God like? How is that God? But yet, you don't want me to prosper in any way, shape, or form because I ain't walking the line you walk. I'm sorry, but these shoes I wear, my right foot biggle, my slide on my left, my heel lean a little inside. So I can't walk your walk and you can't walk my walk, but yet in Christianity, we supposed to walk one walk when your experience ain't my experience, and my experience ain't your experience. I don't get that. I don't understand. And anything that will cause you detriment to your highest self is evil. And I know y'all ain't gonna like me to say that. Y'all don't want me to say that. I get it. But the truth of the matter is anything that causes you to become ungodly is a problem. And God wants you, He desires for you to be intimate with Him. And intimacy for me ain't the same thing as intimacy for you. So there's no way that we could take these parables and these metaphors and these fables and these stories and apply them to our life today as if they are as relevant as they were when they were telling them 33 BC. I don't understand that. Help me figure that out. What I would like for us to do is to truly get into the mindset of being one with God ourselves. What that look like for you. If you had to write your own Bible, what would it look like? What would you add? What would you take away? What would you decide should be in? Because that's what they did. They decided what should be in and what should be out. But y'all don't want to, everybody don't want to do these flawless, these men who was flawed, these murderers, these rapists, these classisms, these capitalists, that's who wrote the Bible. But y'all don't like that. Y'all don't want to hear that part. The Bible was written right after Moses came off the mountain, correct? None of the people that published the Bible or had these scripts in the Bible, none of them was on the mountaintop. But yet they brought you the Ten Commandments. Has anybody found the Ten Commandments? That's a good question. Has anybody ever found the Ten Commandments and the stones? Where's the stones at? I would like to see you. Stones don't decay. Do they? No, I don't think so. So today, if you're wondering how do I get back what was stolen from me, right? This is what I implore you to do. Do some research. Find other books on books, on books. Let me put this out there. When you go to seminary, and I know because the school that I got my four-year degree in, actually two four-year degrees in, because I double majored anyway. That's not important. It was attached and affiliated with the seminary was attached to the school. That was a part of one of the degrees you could get in the masterior program. And during seminary, they teach you about different religions, different places you can get the Bible is, different versions of the Bible. The men that put the Bible together, they teach you in depth the falsities of the Bible. And then you, as a pastor or a researcher, or whatever it is you're gonna do with your degree, because not all people, I know people who went through seminary and decided that being a pastor wasn't for them because of what they found out at seminary school. What I'm saying is the first line of defense to take your power back, to call yourself back to you, is to in all your ways and in all your getting, get some goddamn understanding. Knowledge is power, but if you don't understand the knowledge that you have, that's pointless. Now let me say this. Let's be real clear. And I'm saying, let's be real clear. This is my opinion. This is for my own personal research. This is what I feel, this is what I learned, this is what I read, this is my knowledge. And I am no fool. I don't brag about it. I got degrees, I got transcripts, I got actual diplomas, and I can prove it. And I'm almost done with this PhD, okay? Not almost, like the NF. But that's almost. And I got transcripts to people. And your girl got a four-point. Oh, let's be clear. All I'm saying is, in all your getting, in all your ways, get understanding. Real talk. And again, this is my Scarlet Drum. This is my personal opinion of how religion has hindered my people. And I mean my bloodline. And I mean these black ones. Cause we at this point know we done slept with the master. Well, we ain't try to, but the master done slept with us. So we got a lot of mixes in here, okay? I get this dog because I sit in the sun. I like it. So take what's for you and leave the rest. You do not have to eat all the food on the plate. Cause I hate that they teach kids that. That we teach them gluttony at an early age, and gluttony becomes entitlement.
